Wow what a weekend! It all started Thursday morning when Abby had a sharp pain in her lower right side. My mind emediately thought it was her appendix, but you never know, it could have been gas pain. But over the course of the next 24 hours, her pain got worse and she had all the symptoms of an appendicitis. It was confirmed by an ultrasound that she indeed did have an inflamed appendix and she would need surgery. We drove right up to Primary Children's Hospital where she had surgery Friday night at 9 pm. She stayed there until late Sunday night after getting all 8 doses of antibiotics that were required for how bad her appendix was. While we were there getting the best service and care possible, we met and became friends with some of the best nurses there. Abby recovered so quickly. The nurses were very impressed! The second day was a little rougher but she was good enough to go home. We are soooo happy that she is home now and is recovering so quickly. I know she is anxious to go back to school and see her teacher and friends. Hopefully by the end of the week! Thank you to all of you who sent many well wishes and presents her way. She loved them all! It brightened her days immensly!
Here we are in triage. Abby was really scared. Here is the brave face she put on for the picture.
Before surgery, Abby got to make a surgery doll. They let her draw a face and hair and marks where her stitches would be so it could be just like her and help keep her from being scared. She got to take it into surgery with her for comfort.
"Wake up Abby, it's all over!"
Abby got many beautiful flowers and gifts from family all around.

Abby was soooo excited to have her brother and sisters come to visit. She missed them so much and they missed her.
Abby passed the time by watching TV, making Valentine cards, and finishing her class valentines.
We had fun painting toes and braiding hair, too.
With mixed emotions it was time to leave this place of miracles. What a beautiful day!

Abby - you are such a brave, brave girl. I know how scary hospitals can be. Glad to hear you are feeling better. Taggarts love you!!!!
So glad she is doing better. I hate when kids are sick. It really makes you realize how much they mean to you and your family!
I'm glad that everything went well; how scary. Primary Children's is the best hospital. I hope that her recovery continues to go well.
