Grandpa's Funeral

Time on this earth is so short. We were reminded of this as my Grandpa at the age of 85 passed away last week. He had suffered so much these past few years caused by a series of strokes and accidents. We are so happy that he is out of pain and with our Heavenly Father and his family in Heaven. He lived an incredible life. One of hard work and service. In his quiet way, he loved and supported us so much. It was so wonderful to be able to celebrate his life with lots of family and friends at his funeral this week. Because he was in the Navy, he was buried with full military honors. It was a once in a lifetime funeral for us and the kids to be a part of. The best part was that my sister got to come out from Georgia and we got to sing together. Something that doesn't happen very often! We will miss you Grandpa!

10 years ago, I got the crazy idea to dress up in my Grandpa's old Navy uniform. Today it is my favorite and dearest picture. It just goes to show how young he was when he was in the Navy as I could just barely fit into it.

My cousins, Steve and Heidi (my mom's brother), my mom and dad, Kelli, Kim and Mark.

So many beautiful flowers!

Me and my Grandmother with my brother and sister, Jeff & Kelli. All still a little teary eyed.

What fabulous pictures. I'm sure your Grandpa would be honored to read such a sweet tribute to him. It was so good to talk to you on the phone. You sound like one busy Mama! Isn't that the best? We hope to be back up to Utah this summer and would LOVE to get together with you. Keep in touch.
