Christmas 2009

Christmas 2009 came and went too quickly. Here are a few highlights of how we celebrated Christmas. We started out by taking a cold visit to Temple Square were we saw the beautiful lights. This is one of my favorite traditions of our Christmas. It really kicks off the season for me. It amazes me that they begin putting the lights on in August and don't finish taking them off until late March. I'm sure glad the church is so dedicated to making this beautiful display available for everyone.

A Christmas party at my Grandma and Grandpa Hirschi's is one of my favorite times because I get to see aunts and uncles and cousins that I don't get to see very often. My grandmother still plays the flute every year. She is amazing. The kids played their Christmas piano songs for everyone. And we always get out the chimes and play some Christmas carols. And of course there is always great food. This is a picture of us all at the party with my parents, Jeff and his girlfriend, Kelsey.

One of our traditions is that on Christmas Eve the kids get new Christmas PJ's. Here is Maddie with her new monkey PJ's.

Christmas Day the kids got some fun presents from Santa. Here is Zach with his one request from Santa--a BMW remote control car.

On Christmas Eve, we had a wonderful dinner and program at Mark's parents home. The kids put on the nativity. This year, Paisley was an angel. She fit the part beautifully. Here she is with her halo on sitting on Grandpa Fillmore's lap.

The kids also got together at Grandma Fillmore's before Christmas to decorate gingerbread nativities. The kids did a cute job decorating the stall and making figures out of clay. Here is Abby's display. Very cute!
